DM is the revamped name for the standard mode of play, Battle. The name has changed, but the way the game is played has not. Alliances can still be formed, and broken, mid-game. There are no special settings or modified map sets.

Free For All is the battle mode where there are no allies. It's every man for himself and the victor is the last man standing. While technically players can gang up on another player, their units will still fire at one another's.

Team Alliance requires team mates to set before the game starts. Beyond mandatory teams, this mode plays exactly like Deathmatch. However, this mode does require a modified map set where the maps are built for team play.

In Land Rush, all players start in the same approximate vicinity and must rush outward to find a suitable base location. Players start with Attack Dogs rather than the standard starting units. If there's an AI player, there's sure to be close encounters.

In the Megawealth mode, ore, Refineries and Miners have all been disabled. The only way to make money is by capturing Tech Oil Derricks, which in this mode, output more credits per each cycle. Instead of starting with the standard units, players begin with their respective Engineer.

In Meat Grinder, radar and Lab units have been disabled. There are only basic units at your disposal, making this a brutal game mode for everyone.

In Naval & Air War, water is more prevalent on maps, making the use of naval forces a requirement. This mode also includes a focus on your airforces as well. Only more basic land forces are still available and country specials have been disabled.

In Unholy Alliance, no matter which side is chosen, you have access to all technology from both sides. This, however, does not include country specific units, stolen technology and Secret technology. Unlike before, you do not start with both MCVs, just your particular version.

Tech Revolution allows you access to all of your faction's units, including country specials. So if you chose Britain, you would have access to Abrams Tanks, Grand Cannons and so on. If you manage to capture the opposing faction's technology, you will also be able to build their country special units, as well.

Unholy Alliance 2 is a combination of the Unholy Alliance and Tech Revolution game modes. Like the UA mode, this excludes stolen technology and secret technology.

In Steroids, all units in the game move faster, fire faster, have more armor, come veteran, among other things. Veterancy is also attained at a much higher rate as well. This mode is faster and crazier than usual.

In OMG LIEK MONEY, the amount given for ore and gems is greatly increased, as is the amount of money given by Oil Derricks. Money is easy to come by and almost limitless.

Nuke War grants all players all superweapons, regardless if they're disabled via the menu. The countdown timers really stack up in those games with more than 4 players.

In Crate War, crates appear, and disappear, at a much faster rate. Certain crate bonuses, chiefly free unit crates, appear more often since this is really what this mode was made for.

Sole Survivor is a special game mode wherein you do not have a base. You begin with your side's amphibious transport, which has more armor and speed, and a handful of infantry and tanks. Free unit crates are the most common in the game type. And should you find an MCV in a crate, it deploys into that side's radar structure. You lose if your transport is destroyed.

Infantry War disables all vehicles with the sole exception of Miners and transport helicopters. Infantry are your method of attack; however, country special units have been disabled.

Blackout is like Deathmatch and Free For All (and Team Alliance), except that radar is disabled and there is no way to achieve radar, not even through a tech structure. Sneak attacks are devastating in this mode.

In Identity Crisis, country special units are completely disabled. The only difference between countries are the modifiers and units that start at veteran.
